No matter how old we get, the dreams and memories of youth remain, even when we start to forget what we did yesterday.

It can tough emotionally to work in a care home, or to visit a loved one who has had to move there. And the most gut-wrenching feeling of all is when you see that someone you love doesn’t even recognise you anymore.

Even with people we don’t know it can be Seeing people sit there, still and quiet, hardly speaking to anyone, maybe snoozing all the day, sometimes confused, often upset…we may sometimes forget that they weren’t always like that.

Once they were young, vibrant on top of life and the backbone of their communities.

That’s Kathleen’s story.
